Building on that\, Wendy also elevates the sector as a highly regarded spokesperson in key markets worldwide. In addition\, Wendy is acknowledged as a promoter and advocate for the sector\, attracting new business and investment opportunities to the province.\n\n\n\nAbout the panelists:\n\nAngela Brooks-Wilson PhD is the Dean\, Faculty of Science and Professor\, Biomedical Physiology and Kinesiology\, Simon Fraser University and Distinguished Scientist Canada's Michael Smith Genome Sciences Centre\, BC Cancer. Angela started as Dean of the Faculty of Science at Simon Fraser University in October 2022\, after two years as SFU's Associate Vice-President Research pro tem. Before that\, she served as the chair of the Department of Biomedical Physiology and Kinesiology. She is also a Distinguished Scientists at the Genome Sciences Centre at BC Cancer\, where she leads a research program on the genetics of healthy aging and the genetics of susceptibility to cancer\, particularly blood cancers\, in families and populations. Previously\, Dr. Brooks-Wilson spent seven years in the biotechnology industry in California and BC.\n\n\n\nBeatriz Rodriguez completed a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering in Cuba and then a Master of Applied Sciences degree in Chemical Engineering from UBC\, specializing in Biotechnology. She first joined STEMCELL Technologies in a Manufacturing Technologist role\, in which she developed and improved on processes\, including troubleshooting protocols and equipment. Currently\, as Director of Manufacturing ISO\, on top of working across teams and departments to solve production challenges together\, her main focus is to develop the leaders of tomorrow and to engage\, inspire and encourage everyone to achieve their full potential.\n\n\n\nErica Zarkovich is the Senior Vice President\, Government Markets. Erica is responsible for LifeLabs' core business\, renewing and building relationships with government partners and expanding community lab access and equity across the community laboratory sector. In this role\, Erica also leads key enabling corporate affairs functions\, including corporate communications and community engagement. Erica holds an HBSc. in human biology/bioethics from the University of Toronto (Trinity College)\, an LLB from Queen?s University\, and an LLM in Health Law from Osgoode Hall Law School. She is passionate about volunteering and sits on multiple not-for-profit boards and initiatives.\n\n\n\nJennifer Arntorp is the Sr. Director Operations and Site Leader for the Corcym facility in Vancouver (Canada). Jennifer s responsible for the Canadian operation and transitioned the entity from Sorin Group through Liva Nova to Corcym.
