Prem has been named one of Canada's 100 most powerful women in Vancouver Magazine's "Power 50\," and received the Community Catalyst award from the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade. Prem has more than 20 years of experience working with the digital media and entertainment industries. For many years\, Prem has championed Canadian creativity as a representative and spokesperson to media\, industry\, and government at all levels. \n\nAbout Our Panelists:\n\n\n\n\n\nHilary Bergshoeff is an Assistant Business Representative for IATSE 891\, and is committed to worker rights\, advancing social justice in the motion picture industry and beyond. She has helped IATSE 891 deepen it's relationships with other labour unions\, government offices and businesses to better the lives of the 10\,000 members that IATSE 891 represents. Her work includes collaborations with WorkSafe BC\, Fraser Health Authority\, Vancouver Coastal Health\, and other industry stakeholders on policy projects regarding  GFCIs\, Clean Energy Kiosks\, and Mobile Kitchen Safety. She is also co-leading a team to develop and relaunch the Motion Picture Industry Orientation Course\; a BC wide course that helps workers achieve success on their first day of work\, this course reflects the highest standards and commitments of BC's motion picture industry to Sustainability\, Reconciliation\, Equity\, Diversity\, and Inclusion.\n\n\n\n\n\nDoreen Manuel (Secwepemc/Ktunaxa) BA\, MFA\, Director Bosa Centre & Inclusive Communication Programs - School of Motion Picture Arts\, Capilano University\, has 19 years of experience in the film industry\, and 37 years teaching. Doreen has been working at Capilano University since 2005\, and during that time has worked on and developed several successful programs\, including the Indigenous Digital Film program. Most recently\, she was a founding member of Capliano University's Indigenous Digital Accelerator (IDA)\, and through the IDA\, has created the Filmmakers in Leadership and Management Business Affairs and the Leadership in Indigenous Business Incubator programs. Doreen also has an extensive background working in First Nations education and community development in both rural and urban centers.\n\n\n\n\n\nAnita Bathe\, is the host of CBC Vancouver News' flagship supper hour program at 6 p.m. Anita is a passionate journalist known for chasing breaking news and giving citizens a voice. Anita has taken a lead role in covering recent issues and stories that impact the community\, and her journalism career spans more than 10 years\, with a decade in broadcast radio\, covering local news across British Columbia.
