Description
The federal government recently published draft regulations for the Electronic Commerce Protection Act (ECPA) which dramatically changes how businesses are allowed to communicate to customers and market themselves.
The law also imposes heavy fines of up to $1,000,000 per person and $10,000,000 per business entity for breaching these rules. These new requirements will come into force later this year.
Frighteningly, most small business owners are completely unaware of the legislation and its impact on their marketing programs. Many others struggle to unravel the complicated language and vague definitions throughout the regulations. As a result, many businesses are inadvertently breaching this new law every day and putting their financial health at risk.
This complimentary workshop facilitated by Paula Skaper of Kinetix Media Communications will inform BBOT members about the implications of the ECPA and provide tips and ideas that they can use that day to protect themselves and make sure their marketing programs are compliance ready.
