Description
The Burnaby Board of Trade is proud to partner with Vantage Point to bring this innovative, half-day workshop specifically designed for not-for-profit organizations to Burnaby at a special BBOT price.
Are you an executive director or senior not-for-profit leader with big dreams but limited resources? Are you looking for ways to increase your impact and organizational sustainability? Take the first step by engaging a volunteer knowledge philanthropist!
Talented community members, or knowledge philanthropists, can contribute new skills and increase your capacity to translate ideas into action ? at any level of your organization. When not-for-profit leaders intentionally engage knowledge philanthropists, the outcomes can be phenomenal.
This workshop will prepare you to start connecting with the abundance of talent in your community. From project managers to human resources experts, from marketing to information technology specialists, community members are eager to contribute their skills to your cause. You will gain tools and techniques to proactively plan for, attract and engage knowledge philanthropists in your work.
Learning outcomes from this session:
1) Differentiate between knowledge philanthropy and traditional volunteer roles and learn how to motive knowledge philanthropists to the benefit of your organization
2) Draft a position description and letter of agreement for a knowledge philanthropist
3) Develop an orientation and recognition plan for knowledge philanthropists in your organization
4) Identify technique for recruitment and on-boarding of knowledge philanthropists
