Annual General Meeting & BCIT Preside...
Description
For 60 years, the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) has been delivering flexible, hands-on education from the heart of Burnaby.
Join BCIT President Dr. Jeff Zabudsky to learn more about the future of BCIT and how the Institute and the City of Burnaby are growing together. New student housing, community hubs, and public green spaces underpin just some of the major developments planned for BCIT?s largest campus.
You will also hear about how BCIT is partnering with industry and government to fuel workforce development that is actively addressing labour shortages here in Burnaby and across BC. In-demand sectors are taking advantage of BCIT students, partnerships, and applied research with impactful results.
While economic and inflationary pressures have certainly impacted many businesses across the Lower Mainland, we know that post-pandemic challenges have disproportionately impacted women, those with disabilities, new Canadians, people living in poverty, and Indigenous, Black, and People of Colour. Learn how BCIT is making progress towards economic growth for all by progressing on Truth and Reconciliation and Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion initiatives.
This event will also feature the 2024 BBOT Annual General Meeting, which will be packed with engaging content, important connections, and new announcements. Hear how the Burnaby Board of Trade is working everyday as the catalyst, convener and champion of a thriving community. And meet our newly elected Board of Directors, business leaders who represent a broad cross-section of Burnaby's business community.
