Contracts are at the core of every business relationship, yet many business owners struggle with their complexities. This presentation provides a practical guide to understanding and managing contracts. Cynthia Lam and Stefano Beninteso of GBC Law will review the essential components that make a contract legally binding, the key clauses every contract should include, and common mistakes to avoid. We will also discuss how to negotiate terms that protect your business interests and what to watch for in the fine print.

About the speakers:
Cynthia Lam is the owner of GBC Law. She is also a BBOT director and a member of the new task force created to explore the potential merger between BBOT and NWCC. As a business and real estate lawyer, she brings over a decade of experience to her practice. After moving to BC from Ontario in 2015, Cynthia has built a reputation for her client-centred approach and focus on changing the public’s perception of lawyers. Her favourite part of her work is having the opportunity to connect with new people and learning about their lives and businesses.
Born and raised in Burnaby, Stefano Beninteso pursued his undergraduate studies at Simon Fraser University before earning his law degree from Queen's University in 2017. With a passion for helping businesses and individuals navigate their legal challenges, Stefano focuses on corporate and commercial law, commercial leasing, and conveyancing. With a long-standing goal of returning to British Columbia to practice law, Stefano is proud to have established his career in the community where he grew up.
