Alison Coates - Vancity
Alison is Vancity’s Director of Climate Strategy and Performance leading the collaboration with people and teams across the credit union to shape and oversee Vancity’s response to the climate crisis. Alison is a social and environmental sustainability professional who has held senior leadership positions in Canada and internationally and has led on the development of global sustainability strategies in the financial sector.
Brad Moore - Stantec
Brad is a Civil Engineer specializing in the fields of project coordination and sustainable infrastructure design. His diverse experience includes preliminary and detailed designs, tendering, contract administration and construction inspection on a variety of roadway and municipal projects. In his career, Brad has applied my unique skill set to over 60 projects across Western Canada including the design and construction of major roadways, traffic signals, deep utilities, and roundabouts. His emphasis on sustainability throughout design and construction has been recognized by the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure with the first Envision Award for Sustainable Infrastructure given to a project in the Province of Alberta.
Samantha Lane – Stantec
As a building performance engineer, Sam’s job is to help our clients optimize their projects to realize energy efficiency and sustainability goals—without compromising on inspiring design elements or breaking the bank.
In her position, Sam is responsible for mentoring our growing team of sustainability and building performance specialists throughout Western Canada and driving innovative analysis to inform project work. Sam strives to bring a sense of camaraderie and partnership to every team she’s part of.
Tanya Doran – Stantec
Tanya has spent her career championing sustainable building design. From her first role at an electric utility provider to her recent senior roles consulting for large national organizations and the electric transmission council in Edmonton, Tanya has seen the evolution of sustainable design practice across Western Canada. Her multifaceted career spans from promoting sustainability through stakeholder engagement, workshops, speeches, and presentations; to developing and implementing strategic plans and advocating for practical sustainable practices within Alberta. She has been the Executive Director, Alberta Chapter of the Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC) and spent 17 years engaged with the CaGBC’s annual sustainable building symposium.
